tHE mOIST mORNING

We wanted something from the earth,
We wanted something from each other!
All the sounds of our love have hushed,
All the light has entered the black hole,
The sky has has reached another sky!
Now the moon has to repay the sun,
We have to repay the earth
Before we get something from it!
In this moist morning of winter!!

wE wILL rEPAY tHE eARTH

How I remember the winter night!
You and I had wandered by the seas, the hills and the plains!
We met the seafarers of the ancient days!
We saw the cities, its people, the temples!
The palaces, the battles, the mutineers!
We saw the inordinate ambition of Macbeth,
The razor sharp marshaling of affairs by his Lady!
We met Hrothgar. Beowulf, Iliad, Hector!
The beautiful Helen and  a thousand ships!
So many beautiful faces did we see !
Now the same winter night is here!
Though the sky is vaulted with all our pain and sins,
Though the dew is heavy with all our grief and pain,
I can remember the most beautiful face of the olden time,
Your face, from behind the dark will bring a winter morning;
But we will not forget our pain then,
We will not atone for our sins yet!
We will only  love, hold each other's hands,
We will repay the earth the love,
The humanity owes this love to it since ancient time!

rHYMES

I had so many things to tell you,
Now the bird carries silence in its wings;
My dreams danced in your eyes,
Now still is everything, not a thing swings!

The Burnt Night

This night is burnt with moonlight again,
I forgot this thirst! How I saw you here!
The breeze, the rivers, the trees are bewitched,
At such nights you came and sat on the burnt grass!
We looked to the farthest star, we took our flight,Were we birds then?
Or how we scorned the ground?
On our wings did we fly so often in such nights,
Tonight the ancient lovers are flying like us!!

The Ancient Mariner's Sea

We have reached the ancient mariner's sea,
No waves, no wind,  only you  and  me;
The rest of the world has lost this sea unmapped;
We remember how the white bosom dove flapped
Its small wings to reach its love breaking the earthly ties!
Nowhere do we see the blue stretch as we look to the skies!
Everything is white here, shorn of colour, yet bright;
Far the stars shine and make white even the night !
There is no wind here, yet I can hear the sound of blowing
As being blinded by each other our eyes are glowing!!!
The words that we could not tell the familiar earth;
The still sea listens patiently, and we take a new birth !

The Dark Forest

All my dead thoughts ask me, " Why do you go in the mirth of the sun?"
The heart wails, " Why do you look to the golden and blue stars?"
"You won't get there anything!
Find peace in the dark forest!"

The Face of Winter

How often did we pass by this still water!
Never was it this still!
Never did it hold the sky in its bosom like today;
The green trees have turned black in this water!
The soft dying day, its yet more melancholy hue!
What familiar breeze is this!
How does it benumb our thoughts!
From which distant star do you come down?
From which abysmal depth do I climb up?
We love each other;
We love this winter, its sad face!
We touch the pain of all the lovers of this earth,
At such moments, only at such moments!!

Icarus

What darkness has gripped the world!

Someone has plucked all the stars from the sky!
The moon is dethroned! The green grass shed its hue!
Silence has choked the air! Rivers have forgotten their way!
Once I flew with you like Icarus !
Now my waxen wings have melted
And I see myself in the dry sandy beach lying dead!
My hopes and dreams are scattered all over!
The sea of love is dried up!

Poem - Alone

What is that land in which you have found your peace?

We found peace (I remember) under the same blue sky!
I never walked the trodden path with you!
We discovered the epoch in the stretched wings of the bird!
We were mesmerized!
Today as I stand alone by the shore of the familiar sea,
The waves crush and gaze at me with pain and surprise!
Whom do I tell about my surprise now?
The wings once we stretched are broken now,
They still flutter as they bleed, exhausted!

Poem- Grace

I cannot remember where I saw this ocean, this blue sky!
The ocean was deeper, the sky stretched even farther.
I remember the waves, the sun in the white surf,
The seagulls flying over the waves tucking the soft sun in their wings!
I listened and looked to the dim line where the sky stoops to the water,
We both took a flight on the wings of hope  to reach up above! But ah!
I found myself on  the shore like a grain of sand, you soared high.
In the tranquil of  the ocean, the stretch of  the  sky, the silence of the trees
Something drifted me to you that day.
You went beyond the blue sky only to reach the blue sky!
We were together, yet why we had to reach a far-off place?
You went up, you were lost, I became sand, but none lost grace.
